How to be Energised in the Morning

Hearing your alarm go off in the morning may be something that ruins your mood to start a brand-new day. Many people feel annoyed waking up every day at 7 am and are prone to pressing the snooze button plenty of times. Although it is quite an unpleasant feeling to leave your comfortable bed, there are plenty of ways through which you can wake up every day feeling energized and ready to tackle the day ahead.

It is important to remember that the relation between waking up with energy and getting a good night’s sleep is directly proportional. Fixing up your sleep schedule can benefit you greatly.

The following ways can help you with feeling energized in the mornings:

  • At least an hour before bed, put your phone away and do not use it. The lights in electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets signals our brain to be more awake. This causes us to take longer to fall asleep.
  • Make sure to get 8 hours of sleep every single night. If you need to wake up at 7 am for school or work, make sure to sleep by 10 or 11 pm so that you can have an ample amount to get rest.
  • Make your surroundings as comfortable as possible. Set the temperature to a level that is suitable for you to wear cozy pajamas so that you feel relaxed.
  • Do not drink coffee or tea at least 6 hours before going to bed. The caffeine in these beverages can cause the brain to be stimulated and energized and make it difficult to fall asleep. Lesser sleep would result in more exhaustion in the mornings.
  • After waking up, take out some time to exercise so that your body can warm up and adrenaline can pump through your veins. This will help you in feeling energized throughout the day and at least one glass before going to bed so that your body remains hydrated.
  • Splash your face with cold water when you wake up so that you don’t feel sleepy anymore. The cold water helps to alert your senses and makes you gain some energy in the morning.
  • Plan a healthy and delicious breakfast so that when you wake up you have something to look forward to.

It’s not uncommon to wake up feeling somewhat tired and with low energy. For some individuals, it’s nothing some espresso or shower can’t fix.
