Removing fears. Scary demon outside in fog. Man facing his fears.

Let us be honest, our past is a part of who we are. It is a part of our present even, as it has made us who we are today. The fears we have from past relationships influence how we build relationships today. Past failures are like ghosts who haunt us and prevent us from living our lives. We have to be rid of these fears in order to start living. It is time for us to face our demons.

If your fears from the past are a part of your present, do not let them be a part of your future as well. Your brain is sending you signals that you should be on the lookout because something terrible from the past is going to happen again. Just believing those thoughts makes your fears come to life and prevent you from enjoying the present.

Instead of welcoming new experiences into our lives, we are afraid that we are going to get hurt again. Just imagine how many people have the problem of not trusting others, because a loved one has betrayed them in the past. What is worse, they often find the proof that they are right. Why? Because they project their fears onto their reality.

When we expect something to happen, our expectations often become our reality. This is because separating ourselves from our own perception is impossible. Your perception will always be your reality. That is why it is not possible to run away from the past. You have to face it and let go of it. Only then will you truly be able to move on without carrying all that baggage.

You have to completely let go of your past so that you can have new experiences. Decide that you are going to start creating a different reality. After all, there is no way that your life can become different unless you actually do something different. Do you think that you can do that? Well, I guarantee you that you can. All it takes is determination, a little effort, and following the advice that I am going to give you.

Recognize when fear starts

I am talking about the fear that tells you that something terrible from the past is going to happen again. Recognize it. Gaining awareness is essential, and you achieve it by noticing your fear. Do you know the feeling when you sense that you are starting to freak out? Become aware of every time you start feeling anxious and fearful. You need to disengage from that fear and stop thinking of it as your reality that has no alternative. Your fear does not define you. You are not your fear. It is time that you realize that. In addition, by noticing your fear, you will be able to find out what triggers it.

Make things clear

What exactly has happened? What are you afraid that will happen again? When it comes to your fear, you have to make things clear. What are you afraid of? Maybe you felt rejected when you opened up to someone, or you lost yourself when you got close to someone else. Whatever your fear is about, you have to name it. You have to know what you are dealing with in order to deal with it. The only way for you to have freedom is to call out your fear.

Do you know what letting go really means? It means forgiveness. You hold onto the things from the past that you have not forgiven. Whether it shows itself in resentment or fear, not forgiving others actually makes us suffer ourselves. Think about what has happened to you and realize that it was a mistake. Forgive those who have hurt you so your wounds can begin to heal. It is the only way for you to have a happy future free from the ghosts of the pass. Letting go is all about forgiveness. Forgive and let go. You will feel the weight lift off your shoulders.

Find peace inside you

Regaining a sense of peace does not depend on those around you but on you yourself. After all, you are the one who is holding onto your past. Now that you have forgiven others, you have to realize that they are not the ones that should make things better. You are the only one who can do that. Do not rely on others so much for your own sense of safety and peace. Meditation and prayer can help you. Remember that your fear is from the past, so it should stay there. Do not make any room for it in your present. Remember that you are in the present where you are well and safe. Your past is behind you, and you should keep it there. Do not let it influence your present. Prove to yourself that you are stronger than your fears. Leave the past in the past and make way for a better future by living in the present.
