We all must have tried keeping a daily journal or a diary in our lives sometimes or the other. Haven’t we? However, how many of us can’t maintain it properly? How many of us are indeed able to express our feelings and thoughts on paper or in a computer journal? Only a handful of us. This happens due to the lack of words and the ability to covert our thoughts into written matter. Let us look at some ideas that may help.

Be clear about what you wish to write

While putting your thoughts in words, it is essential to be clear in what you want to write. Be clear about your thoughts and feelings that you want to put in your journal. You must have clarity about what you think and what you want. This clarity leads to a more effective journal. You will be able to indulge yourself in the journal and be more productive. Obviously, nobody can write each and everything in a journal, so it is important to segregate things efficiently, according to their importance.

Be relaxed while writing a journal

A journal is more about creativity and one’s ability to weave his thoughts into a pattern. In addition, to be creative, it is very important to feel relaxed and comfortable. Being relaxed and fresh helps, you think more effectively and it gives you new ideas. A peaceful and congenial environment also helps you feel relaxed and active. It gives you positive vibes and some positive energy to feel good while writing. In addition, it is not compulsory to write every day. A journal must be your wish and not your duty. It should not seem to be a burden, so you can sometimes skip writing if you feel like doing so.

It should be simple

Do not stress about vocabulary and beautifying things. If that is your thing, go for it! However, if you feel stressed, leave it. It is not compulsory to unnecessarily add words to your journal to beautify it. Keep it simple and easy. It is more important to feel good about writing instead of feeling tensed about making it extraordinary. Journals are simple; do not insist on making them complicated. Simplicity is itself an art, and an art that needs to be nurtured.

It is okay to make mistakes

When you learn something, you make mistakes. Do not feel sad about making mistakes. Believe in yourself, and start all over again. When you write a journal, there may be times when you get lost in thoughts, and that is the moment when you make mistakes. However, it is completely okay. It is fine to make mistakes while writing. It gives you a chance to improve and embrace your writing skills.
