Developing a Morning Routine

Category:

Several great people from the past to the present have had some morning routine, from Benjamin Franklin to Arianna Huffington.  It would be safe, therefore, to say that this contributed to their incredible success.

A morning routine is a series of things you do in the morning before going to your place of work.  That said, you already have a morning routine.  Several people have a morning routine that looks like this: wake up, hit the snooze button of the alarm, and sleep for another 30 minutes.

Finally wake up, pick up the phone, check out what is interesting, find out you have little time to get to work, rush up and down the house trying to get ready for work.  Are stuck in traffic and finally get late to work where someone then tells you that you forgot to rinse the shampoo of your head and that you are wearing two different legs of shoes.

If this is your morning routine, you are whereas efficient as the greats, and you need to get your it right; you are now an adult.

Getting it together

To get it together, you have to develop a good morning routine and stop using one that will likely cause you to have a heart attack in the middle of the street when you notice that you left your pants at home this time.

To improve your morning routine, you need to think about all the things that are important to you.  It could be learning or reading novels or if you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes feeding your dog weed to find out its long term effects.  You need to compile those important things into a list.

A sane person, or semi-sane person as the case may be, might consider calling his mother or kissing his girlfriend (if she is into bad morning breathe kisses) as a kiss or walking your dog around the house when it is still grumpy with the hangover of yesterday's alcohol.

Once you have the list, you need to find the most important of those things and compile them into a commotion list, and the estimated amount of time it would take you to carry out any of these activities.  You then pick a time to wake up every morning.  Now the morning wake up time might be a little tricky since you are used to snoozing alarms.

To overcome this problem, you need to use an alarm tone that scares the snort out of you or one that excites you.  You could use the tone of a barbeque that reminds you of meat that was done just that right way, melts in your mouth, and minds your grandfather.  That way, when you hear the alarm, you would jump right out of bed.  Of course, you immediately go to the fridge and pick up something to eat; it guarantees that you stay awake since you will have to move around.  You then begin to carry out the tasks that you have written on your commotion list.

I would advise, though, that you add some exercise to your commotion list because of that juicy food you would be eating in the morning, or you might have to get bypass surgery at 35.

In addition, you should plan your get ready for work and transportation time into your morning routine so that your boss might think of giving you a promotion for coming early to work for 5 days in a row.

Keeping it going

Of course, when you start with your morning routine, after a while (the second day), you might notice how hard it can be to keep going.  Cheer up; you are in good company.  Even the unicorns find out that producing rainbows get difficult I think it has something to do with the crack candy, booze, and cake balance.

Like a unicorn, you need to do a few things to make it easier for you (yes unicorns cheat).  First, you need to find time to review your morning routine and find out what works and what does not.  Just like trying out using a bottle of vodka instead of morning coffee, you can improve many things and get your morning routine to be exciting.

You could also use your phone to help your routine.  You could set your phone to turn off at a specific time every day and set timers for the apps on your phone.  You could get wonderful apps to remind you and keep you on track, so you do not forget.  In addition, like with the alcoholics anonymous, you could find support groups to keep you straight with having a productive morning routine.

Why should you do it?

Apart from keeping your job and remembering to wear your pants on the way to work, a good morning routine has wonderful benefits.  It could help you to have more energy during the day and thus more time to gossip about tony at the office and more energy to plan and have a better bang-up party at night.  It could improve your relationships and you to be more organized, feel more confident, and to be more productive at work.  With a good enough morning routine, you too could be one of the great people that people will talk about a few years from now.
