Creative Flow

Darryl Bachmeier Jun 10, 2020 Productivity
Creative flow. Art, painting, creating. Natural focused work.

Mysterious but Explainable! Defying inertia to attain the highest mastery of a skill or an art is magical. You would agree with me that it is quite, a mysterious phenomenon but explainable. Quickly, let us have a flash back – remember the first time you touched the piano with the intention to play? Alternatively, the first time the fine artiste in you prompted you to pick up your bristles and paint a drawing. Alternatively, the ever first time you found an inspiration to write. Amidst the distractions; perhaps you were batting with an emotional challenge; or, you were held to ransom by the greatest distraction of all time – your internet connected smartphone; yet, you reassured yourself you would not give in to these push and pulls. You relentlessly pressed for perfection, ignoring the diversion. Now, compare so far with what you have been able to achieve in that sphere...

Your thoughts create your reality

Darryl Bachmeier Jun 9, 2020 Mind

Thoughts become things. Have you heard of that phrase? Well, it exists for a reason. Your mind actually creates your reality. Of course, it doesn’t mean that our minds can alter the physical world. Still, what it does mean is that what dominates your thoughts becomes your reality. This is because thoughts actually generate emotions, and what do emotions generate? They generate interpretations, which then generate experiences. And what are experiences than your very reality? Just think about it. How about people that have financial difficulties? They think about it all the time until they become chronically anxious. In addition, they start doubting themselves and start thinking they don’t have the ability to make it in this world. It leads to hopelessness, which causes them to search for sources of income that are at the same level as their self-esteem – low. The thing about them is that they don’t...

Wu Wei

Darryl Bachmeier Jun 9, 2020 Life
Wu Wei. Ancient China. Great Wall of China. Outside misty mountains.

Can you achieve something by doing nothing? Well, it seems so, but not quite so literally. There is a significant concept of Taoism called Wu Wei. It’s Chinese, and it literally translates to “non-doing” or doing nothing. What it stands for is a natural action. That means an action that doesn’t involve excessive effort or struggle. Wu Wei is actually the cultivation of a certain mental state in which your actions are very effortlessly in alignment with what we call the flow of life. So, basically, it’s going with the flow, and it’s characterized by a feeling of great ease when we are spontaneously acting perfectly. It’s when you’re doing the right thing spontaneously and effortlessly, without even trying. Haven’t you ever started doing something where everything seemed to just flow, and you felt like you became one with the world? We often refer to it as being in the...

The false self, ego

Darryl Bachmeier Jun 9, 2020 Mind
False self the ego. Vanity. Young beutiful woman outside. Mirror reflection.

What is the ego? The ego is actually the mind identity that we create, an identity that is above all, false. You have to understand that you are more than your mind. All of us have certain beliefs when it comes to what are we. Those beliefs are about our abilities, our personality, and our talents. It’s what becomes the structure of your ego. Ego is not a static thing, but a dynamic and active part of your personality. It plays a significant role in creating the emotional drama in your life. By agreeing to the thoughts you have about yourself, you’re constructing a self-image. There are thoughts that especially contribute to the structure of your ego. Such thoughts sound something like, “I am smart.” “I am not good at sports.” “Nobody loves me.” “My scar makes me ugly.” Behind all these mentionings of “I” and “me” hides your ego...

Social conditioning - How to think for yourself

Darryl Bachmeier Jun 9, 2020 Mind

All of us have thoughts, and throughout life, we have formed some opinions. You can’t help but wonder, how many of those beliefs are based on our understanding and how many are results from social conditioning? You might know a lot of things, but some of those things are from your personal experience, while others come from parrot-like learning. The problem is that critical thinking isn’t stimulated, and it’s that way even when we are going to school. Some people never wonder is what the media is telling them actually the truth. And what’s the result of this social conditioning? We have emotional insecurities, and corporations exploit them to sell us services and products. The media that I mentioned earlier uses propaganda tactics to unable us from thinking with our own minds. Are you ready to start thinking for yourself? Do you have the courage to escape the mentality of...

Is it possible to make your thoughts your reality? Could it be that we can bring things into our life by belief? Sounds fantastic, and it’s true. The world is actually a reflection of our actions, beliefs, and energy. Our dominant beliefs allow us to filter the world, and our mind is a mechanism that seeks goals. That is why, if you have a vision for what you want your life to be or you have faith that great things exist, your mind will bring the ideas and information that support you in that. What you think becomes your reality, so choose your thoughts wisely. If you choose to believe that dream jobs, fantastic opportunities, infinite abundance, and romantic partners exist, you’re inviting them into your life. Acting in accordance with the identity applies to all humans. When you’re trying to create your desires, you have to think, act, and...

What is the opposite of arrogance, aggression, vanity, and pride? It’s humility. Humility is the act of being reverential, modest, and politely submissive. It seems like it doesn’t leave you any power, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not true cause humility gives you a lot of power. Aren’t you tired of the desire to be right, to impress, and get ahead? Humility offers you freedom from all those desires. What’s best about it is that losses and frustrations have less impact. So who is a humble person? It’s a person that confidently receives the opportunities to improve, grow, and reject labels that society forces on them. You, too, can lead a humble life, and it is a life that results in compassion, contentment, forgiveness, and patience. What is it all about? Humility is actually the attitude or feeling that you are not better than anyone else since you have no special...
